By joining the Tess Corners Volunteer Fire Department Cadet Program you will get valuable,hands-on experience with real firefighters.
Be a Cadet
Cadets are a group of young men and women who have an interest in the fire profession. Cadets experience similar training, duties and actual situations that Tess Corners firefighters handle on a daily basis.
Learn Valuable Skills
As cadet, you will meet weekly at one for the 4 Tess Corners stations. Training's are conducted in a professional manner. The business meetings are handled in a business like manner once a month. Fire department personnel offer Cadets training in:
- Fire Suppression
- Equipment use and apparatus safety
- Emergency scene safety
- First Aid
- CPR certification
- Teamwork
- Leadership Skills
- New Friends
- Self-confidence
- A glimpse into the firefighting career
Fire prevention, public education and safety demonstrations are also a valuable part of the community service offered by member of the cadets.
